Synopsis: One sunny June day, the government loses control of a biological weapons experiment, unleashing a deadly plague that kills 99% of the population. Now the survivors gather together in two groups: one aligned with the forces of good, and one with an entity who might be the devil himself. The future of mankind hinges on the courage of the survivors to stand and face down this entity... Gary Sinise plays Stu Redman, formerly of Arnette, Texas, one of the plague's epicenters. The town's only survivor, Stu begins a journey on which he will experience love, loss, faith, and everything in between. This 1994 television miniseries was Gary's first "romantic lead" role onscreen. The Stand links: Internet Movie DatabaseRyan Poore was a crewmember on the miniseries production. He writes: "Gary Sinise is a great guy, he was probably the most down to earth person on the whole film crew... he had just come from his movie OF MICE AND MEN and really wasn't a huge actor in the public's eye. He would go out of his way just to say Hello to you. He was always joking around and laughing between takes. At lunch on the set, he would just come over and eat with us and so would Molly Ringwald.....Gary is really just a great person, I am glad I had the chance to work with him. Now his career has really shot off into space, literally."Many thanks to Ryan for sharing this! |
